Susie Li provides expert and strategic advice in complex matters relating to trade defence, import and export controls, among other capabilities.

Susie Li is a lawyer at Moulis Legal in Canberra. She primarily practices in international trade, and also assists across litigation, regulatory and IP practices.

With dual Australian and Chinese legal qualifications, Susie has experience advising both private and public sector clients on cross-border transactions. She offers expert and strategic guidance on anti-dumping investigations and reviews, anti-circumvention inquiries, countervailing measures, dumping duty assessments, customs tariffs, effective transaction structuring, country of origin issues and trade agreements. Susie collaborates with multinational corporations across various industries including steel, aluminium, renewable energy, technology, logistics, and construction. She has represented clients in anti-dumping verifications, engaged with regulatory stakeholders and participated in WTO disputes.

With a cross-cultural background that spans China and Australia, Susie brings unique insights and perspectives to her work. Susie’s experience navigating diverse legal systems allows her to understand the intricacies and needs of various cultural backgrounds, helping foster strong relationships that contribute towards achieving clients’ commercial goals. She adeptly guides international clients through complex trade matters, cross-border disputes, and the nuances of Australian law, unlocking new opportunities for success in diverse markets.

Prior to joining Moulis Legal, Susie practised data security and compliance at a leading commercial law firm in China, developing her expertise in overseas regulatory compliance and privacy protection. During her studies in Australia, Susie made important contributions to the Law Reform Program and collaborated with the Australian Centre for Climate and Environmental Law at the University of Sydney. Additionally, she volunteered with the Refugee Advice & Casework Service. Her interest in privacy and environmental law continues at Moulis Legal, where she has authored publications including CBAM white papers and other articles.

Susie is an important member of the Moulis Legal research and submission writing team, including for WTO disputes.


Outside of work, Susie enjoys boxing, board games, creative writing, and reading.
