Humza Albarki is a lawyer proficient in the Japanese, Arabic, and English languages who has a unique blend of government and private law experience.

Humza Albarki is a lawyer with Moulis Legal in its leading international trade law practice. He also works across our corporate and commercial, and public and administrative law practice areas as his skills and aptitude dictate.

Humza assists Australian companies and multinational corporations, including a number headquartered in China, Korea, South Africa, Sweden, and the US, operating in industries such as glass, steel, renewable energy, mining, and automotive. A good part of his matters relate to Australasian and South East Asian export and import regulation, and WTO-based trade measures.

Humza joined Moulis Legal after completing a 12-month legal graduate program with one of the Australian Government’s largest in-house legal counsel groups, where he developed a unique blend of expertise in contract law, disputes, and administrative law. He has advised the Australian Government on its rights under high-value contracts and on numerous claims of administrative error. As such, he has a unique insight into how government agencies operate and knows what it is that the private sector needs to keep in mind when doing business with the public sector and seeking approvals from government agencies.

To add to his all-round abilities, before joining Moulis Legal Humza gained experience in mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property disputes in two of Australia’s largest global law firms. Through this he has developed a balanced appreciation of how law and commerce interact, and of the need to adopt a pragmatic approach in achieving a client’s desired outcomes.

Humza graduated with a Juris Doctor from Monash University in 2023. In his tertiary years he studied global issues in private law in Prato, Italy, and competed in dispute advocacy and mediation competitions.

Humza lived in rural and metropolitan Japan as an exchange student on multiple occasions, including at one of Japan’s most prestigious educational institutions, Keio University in central Tokyo. With his understanding of Japanese business language and culture, Humza is eager to support Japanese clients to achieve their commercial goals in Australia.

Outside of work, you can find Humza cuddling his German Shepherd dog Aiko and competing on the weightlifting platform.
