Moulis Legal is proud to have been the major sponsor of UN Youth Australia’s 2015 Conference, Rising Against Racism, held in Canberra on 21 and 22 March. The conference brought together high school students from across Canberra and surrounding regions to engage, debate and discuss racism and its effects on individuals and the wider community.
In her conference opening speech Moulis Legal lawyer Emilie Franklin told the delegates about the surprising prevalence of racism in Australia, and about the culture of denial that blinds so many of us to the reality of discrimination and lost opportunity that Australians of different race and ethnicity encounter on a daily basis.
We applaud the commitment of UN Youth Australia and of the young people who attended the conference to organise, to advocate, and to fight for such an important cause.
