Marie is a senior lawyer in the firm’s property and commercial practice, based in our Canberra office. Marie assists our clients with a full range of commercial property transactions, both within Canberra as well as Australia-wide.

Marie understands the importance of having a client-centric approach and strives to produce the best possible outcomes for clients based on their strategic needs. Marie is experienced in handling sale and purchase agreements, commercial and retail leases, easements and restrictive covenants, and general commercial transactions.

Marie’s calm, personable and methodical manner are of great value in navigating complex commercial dealings and procedurally intense property transactions. She is highly effective at identifying and dealing with issues before they arise, ensuring deadlines are met and clients are satisfied.

Prior to entering the legal practice, Marie worked in Beijing and within Australia in academic research on human trafficking in the Asia-Pacific Region and the non-profit sector.

Marie holds a Bachelor of Asia-Pacific Studies (Honours), majoring in Chinese Studies, and a Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University. She was admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of ACT in 2015.

Outside of work, Marie enjoys reading (and watching adaptations of) Agatha Christie’s Poirot and Miss Marple, playing the piano and dabbling in literary translation. Apart from English, Marie is fluent in Mandarin, Malay and conversational Cantonese.
