Property Council of Australia’s 500 Women in Property launch

Moulis Legal Chief Executive, Suzanne Moulis last night launched this year’s Property Council of Australia’s 500 Women in Property at Minter Ellison’s offices in Barton.

Sponsored nationally by GPT Group, this invaluable program champions the inclusion and development of women via personal sponsorship by industry leaders. Participants in this year’s program include development managers, planners, architects, lawyers, accountants, engineers, project managers and other professionals, creating a strong networking and professional development environment for participants and their organisations.

Moulis, who also chairs the Council’s Diversity Committee, reflected on the immediate need for programs such as the 500 Women in Property initiative:

This program is about providing opportunities for everyone in an industry which has a structure and culture forged in the past, in a social setting that no longer exists and is no longer relevant. Opportunities to realise the value of people with equal qualifications, experience and suitability outside the concept of ‘merit’, a concept that is highly subjective; disrupt discriminatory attitudes and bias; and deliver better thinking, richer discussions and stronger outcomes.

Now in its third year, the program has grown from 100 Women to ‘500 Women in Property’ and has received much positive feedback from former participants, advancing their professional profile and confidence.

Moulis Legal’s newest member, property lawyer Caroline Faeh, also attended the event and observed:

I am delighted to be joining Moulis Legal and this event is an exciting reminder of the evolving and diversifying landscape in which property professionals operate.
